Job Summary

Provide administrative and sales support to the business unit Account Manager.

Key Accountabilities

Account Management Assistance

  • Assist in retaining customer volume, sales, and profitability by selling new products and services to current and new customers
  • Assist in execution of growth strategies for business unit
  • Research and track customer needs and competitor activity
  • Utilize SugarCRM for opportunity management, customer tracking, and assisting in sales forecasting
  • Work with inter-departmental staff to facilitate customer credits
  • Assist with product promotions and regular customer contacts
  • Assist in developing product presentations as requested

Customer Support

  • Act as a point of contact for customers and provide superior customer service
  • Assist with customer satisfaction, managing customer expectations, and issue resolution
  • Proactively communicate customer needs and perspective
  • Work directly with customers to place orders, troubleshoot problems, and escalate issues when necessary

Sales Administration

  • Manage logistics and order management of top customer(s)
  • Track sales & marketing promotions in ERP (Microsoft Navision) and CRM (Sugar)
  • Assist in online website testing

Reporting & Analysis

  • Run promotional and daily operational reports as needed
  • Build and maintain reporting to monitor customer and product trends

General Administrative

  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Assemble reports, presentations, mailings, and other information packets
  • Process orders and monitor inventory as needed
  • Maintain proficiency in CRM system
  • Build strong inter-company relationships

Supervisory Accountabilities

  • None

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong Microsoft software skills, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using GoTo Meeting software
  • Experience using CRM software (specifically Sugar a plus)
  • Experience using ERP software (specifically Microsoft Navision a plus)
  • General administrative experience
  • 2 years’ experience in an administrative, sales, or customer service role
  • Experience working in the pet / death care industry preferred


  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and productivity
  • Sit for long periods of time (standing work station provided)
  • Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately and meet deadlines
  • Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Understand and execute a variety of instructions
  • Effectively operate office equipment, and effectively operate and communicate on the phone system
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures and complete job required training
